Assisted Living Residents Love the Literary Hour Volunteers Program

We like to give back here at the Fountains. One of the ways we do this is by helping people in our own community. Every month, our Assisted Living residents read to residents in the Gardens and Terrace neighborhoods during our literary hour volunteer activity. 

We make sure there's something for everyone to enjoy when we come - whether it's Harlem Renaissance poetry, Bible verses, or even excerpts from famous speeches - we read it all!

One of the best parts about this program is when Assisted Living residents are able to visit old friends of theirs in the memory care areas. It's beautiful to watch the resident's faces light up the minute they recognize someone they know. It goes to show that even the smallest acts of kindness go a long way in making a difference.
